The tuxedo jacket first appeared in menswear in the 1800s as an alternative to the tailcoat, and in 1975 Mr. Lauren sent his version for women down the runway. Woven with highly twisted crepe yarns for a modern drape, the slim-fitting Sawyer builds on this heritage by merging a lightweight feel with a sleek, structured look.

- Slim fit. Intended to hit at the lower hip.
- US size 8 has a 28" body length and a 24.75" sleeve length. Body length is taken from the high point of the shoulder. Sleeve length changes approximately 0.25" between sizes.
- Silk-satin-covered shawl collar. One-div silhouette.
- Long sleeves with four-div fold-over cuffs. Silk-covered divs. Shoulder pads.
- Left chest welt pocket. Two front waist besom pockets.
- Fully lined with signature jacquard.
- Shell: 96% wool, 4% elastane. Collar facing: 100% silk. Lining: 95% cupro, 5% elastane.
